60ml Beard Butter
Not just natural, this is as close to nature as a scent can be. Rather than a short description, I have a story for you about where I got the inspiration for this scent from:
Another inspiration from Iceland. On my 2nd visit in January 2023, I experienced the wonder of the Aurora Borealis - more commonly known as the Northern Lights. Kerry and I had “chased” them a couple of times on our trip but didn’t have much luck. On our last night we were having dinner in a restaurant and got talking to another couple who said they saw a slight glimpse of them just as they entered the restaurant. We were sat next to the window so I spent the whole time in the restaurant looking out of the window hoping to see them but again, no luck.
When we left the restaurant we started walking towards a shop to load up on snacks and then we saw some faint green lines in the sky. I got excited! It’s rare to see the lights but even more so in a city due to the light pollution. There was a place just outside of Reykjavík that we’d driven to on previous attempts at seeing the lights but we’d given our hire car back at this point. I remembered seeing those temporary hire cars in the city that you can grab through an app so I quickly downloaded it, uploaded my driving license and got looking for a car.
We saw one on the app, it doesn’t tell you what it is just where it is. It was about a 20 minute walk over icy pavements and roads which wasn’t fun but we finally made it and saw our chariot that was going to take us to the northern lights. A tiny, all electric, Renault fucking Zoe.
Better than nothing I suppose! We jumped in and headed towards Seltjarnarnes, an area to the west of Reykjavík. It’s at the edge of the country as most of the populated areas are and is home to the Gróttuviti Lighthouse. We could see the lights as we were driving but the closer we got to the lighthouse, the clearer and brighter the lights became!
We parked up and walked to an area away from everyone else. Snow covered the ground but the volcanic rock beneath was still visible, marking the edge of the bay that opened up to the ice cold sea. Gazing across the water to the other side of the bay, we were mesmerised. Above and in front of us, were the shimmering green and purple hues of The Aurora Borealis.
Standing there under this natural beauty is what inspired this scent. The freezing cold air, the refreshing scent of the air and sea, the earthy and smokey scent of the land made from lava.
A masculine scent forged from nature. Where fire meets ice. Where smoke meets the purest air.
